Since 1986, Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Development, has invested significant time and money in the promotion and implementation of labor-management cooperation concepts.  This investment has produced a system of eleven community-based organizations.

Local Not-for-Profit Organizations

Public-Private Partnerships

Forum for Labor and Management to jointly identify
    and address economic development issues

Offer Training, Facilitation, Workshops, Involvement Processes

This structure allows programs and training to be tailored to organizations’ specific needs, which differ from one region of Ohio to another.  The OLMCP has been an effective economic development tool by anchoring existing industry more firmly in local communities, retaining and expanding the pool of well-paying white and blue collar jobs, and improving labor-management climate to make relocation to Ohio even more attractive.
